Broomfield is a consolidated city and county, so the detention system is run by the Broomfield Police Department instead of a separate county sheriff roster. The Broomfield Police Department lists Chief Enea Hempelmann and identifies the department as the local agency tied to detention, records, patrol, communications, and related public safety divisions. For current custody, the active booking PDF is the first official source. For copies of older police records or digital media, the Broomfield Police Records Unit is the fallback.

Readers should separate jail custody from court and prison custody. The Broomfield report can show booking charges, bond type, agency, statute, and release date when listed. It does not prove conviction. It also does not cover a person after transfer to the Colorado Department of Corrections Offender Search, the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator, or the ICE detainee locator.

2. Use the Search for an Inmate link, which routes to the active booking acknowledgement.
3. Read the no-solicitation statement and click Acknowledge / Agree if the use is lawful.
4. Open the active booking PDF and use the browser or PDF viewer Find command for a name.
5. Check each charge row under the same person, since one inmate can have several bond, agency, statute, or hold lines.
6. Use the jail phone line, court docket, Records Unit, CDOC, BOP, ICE, or VINELink when the person is missing from the PDF.

The PDF should be treated as a current-custody snapshot. If the browser appears to show an older file, reopen it from the acknowledgement page. A newly arrested person may not appear yet, and a released person may drop from the active list even though police or court records still exist.

Broomfield County Roster Search Fields

Broomfield County inmate records differ from counties that publish searchable roster forms. The county page has a legal acknowledgement and a button. The actual report is a PDF, so text searching happens inside the PDF viewer rather than on a county search form. That distinction matters when users expect a last-name box, booking number field, or current-and-released tab.

Broomfield County Custody Systems

A missing name in the active booking report does not mean no arrest occurred. It may mean the person has not yet been processed, has been released, is held by another agency, or moved into a different correctional system. Broomfield County Inmate Visits

Broomfield Detention Center does not conduct in-person social visits. Social visits are electronic through iWebVisit, either remote from a device with camera access or through a limited detention lobby terminal. All visits must be scheduled online in advance, including lobby-terminal visits. The visitor email address matters because iWebVisit uses it for changes and cancellations.

If an inmate does not appear in iWebVisit, Broomfield says to call 720-887-2051 because the person may be unavailable for a visit. Visits are monitored and recorded except approved confidential professional visits. Same-day scheduling is not available, late starts are not credited, and a person incarcerated at Broomfield in the past 30 days may not schedule a visit.

Broomfield County Mail and Money

Mail and money rules are separate from inmate lookup. The public mail guidance allows letter and legal envelopes and photographs on photographic paper, but it rejects Polaroids, photocopied photos, stamps, stickers, internet-printed material, metallic gel pens, crayon, paint, glue, glitter, perfume, and certain decorated cards. An inmate receives written notice when mail is rejected. The public page does not give a complete mailing format with inmate ID line, so users should verify the current format with the jail before mailing.
